A couple of months ago, a friend of mine and I did a podcast on identity titled, “Who Am I?” This is a very important topic. You may ask, Why is it so important? Because oftentimes in life, people try to place all kinds of labels on us—such as “damaged,” “loser,” “stupid,” and more. If you don’t know who you are, then you’ll believe what others say about you.
Let me encourage you—what people say about you really doesn’t matter. What matters is what God says about us. After all, who better to say who we are than the very One who created us?
So what does God say about us? I’m glad you asked. The Bible says we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14), and that “before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” (Jeremiah 1:5).
I don’t know about you, but this helps me to know that I am His. In Jeremiah, the Word says that “…the plans I have for you… plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

I read this and think to myself: if God has a plan for my life, then I know I am in good hands. Christ came and died for all of us. This just shows me the depth of the love He has for me.
It is very important that our identity is rooted in Christ and who He is. If not, we will waste our lives away trying to find out who we are. I am so grateful that I belong to Him.
If you don’t know who you are, and if you are struggling with identity, I urge you to find someone you trust—someone who will give you good, Godly counsel—and talk to them about it. A good place to start would be by submitting to Christ and allowing Him to be your Lord and Savior. He won’t let you down.
